Wonderful resource! Do you take audio contributions or links? A group in Hallowell has been working on a community history website http://www.historichallowell.org Students at HallDale Middle School have added recordings to some of their stories. Check out our site!

This food looks very good. I make my Ployes from the Buckwheat Flour made from Bouchard’s in Fort Kent sold at Walmart in Presque Isle, Maine It is nice to hear of a story from Michael. Take care Michael and keep cooking. Will try and go have some good food during the Acadian Festival ok.

my parents were carl and doris mendelson. my mom at age 85 passed awat in sept. my da 12 years ago. i remember my momgoig to rockland for most of there jewish clubs and to go to services ther. we all lived on belfast were the only other familis were other mendelson family members, would love to here from oay one who has stories about my folks. i do remember your folks very .

It was such a wonderful surprise to find this website and see my parents, aunt, and cousin in the picture of the early Jewish families in Rockland and to hear the interview with Sam Small and Meredith Dondis. Sam Small was my father and he passed away in March 2008. Hearing his voice and his story were priceless, even though I had heard the same stories many times before. He was quite a story-teller, as is Meredith Dondis, our cousin. Thank you for what you are doing to preserve the memories.
